Information: Portuguese cinema all too rarely makes it on to British screens, and yet Portugal has produced some of the most eclectic and innovative films of the past decade and beyond.

Foremost among them is Miguel Gomes, represented here by his debut feature The Face You Deserve, as well as his most recent film, the magnificent Our Beloved Month of August, which was Portugal’s nominee for the Foreign Film Oscar. We’re delighted to welcome Miguel Gomes to London, where he’ll participate in two Q&As after the screenings of his films.

The documentaries include Manuel Mozos’ exquisite essay film Ruins, and Edgar Pêra’s Perpetual Movements, a tribute to the celebrated Portuguese guitar player Carlos Paredes.
